This is fish central...this is where all the big fish are bought and auctioned off and shipped worldwide. Unfortunately, the main auction starts at 5:30 am and tourists are now severely limited in number and what they can see. Our hostel indicated that we would have to wait in line starting at like 4am to even get in, so we didn't bother with the auction and just showed up around 9am. Even then, the main market was crazy with a bunch of guys on fork lifts hauling ass all over the place. I could easily see how tourists could be annoying and get in the way!
Regardless, we did get to see some big fish (at least parts of them) and lots of colorful sea creatures. Afterwards, we headed to regular market area to the north to taste some of the fresh fish and shop for some knives.
