Ueno Park is an okay getaway from the urban metropolis - there is a good amount of flora but you won't get solitude. There are a few statues / shrines to visit as well as a bunch of museums (which I did not enter). I encountered a lady performing a little show in which she performed a dance while making cutting out and making origami which was pretty cool. In the spring it is a nice place to view the blooming cherry blossoms.
Take the JR Yamanote line to Ueno.
